After waiting several months expecting an article to appear in the las news about the re-opening of smithfield ambulance station,a letter was sent to the editor and ive been told by good authority that it the letter will appear in next issue and a behind the scenes feature will appear in a future addition.Thank you again for all the support both unison retirement association and lasra gave our station.

A lot of the meeting was spent asking why the west sector was subject to so many suspensions and what the union was doing about it, shame this wasn't mentioned in the spiel.

I agree, I used to be completely against anything to do with private companies but that was probably the wrong thing to do. We should have got in there right from the start and not left it so long. We have allowed these companies to not just get a foot in the door but they have most of their body in too. Well done, keep up the good work

I have seen this on some service computers but not on others. Don't know why. Looks good though and I can see it at home which is where I normally view the site as we don't get much time on station these days.

You address an interesting point on that stuff. I think you described it in a professional manner. I hope you will continue in this way, with your excellent ability of writing

I like the first point you made there, but I am not sure I could reasonably apply that in a contructive way.

this is very good news. The erosion of pts has gone on for far too long and there is little left. Next will be the a&e service if the tide isn't stopped. Well done.

There are RSS subscription links on each news page in the right hand column and also on the home page of the website underneath the news headlines.

I am not really sure if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your great job is clearly identified. I was wondering if you offer any subscription to your RSS feeds as I would be very interested and can?t find any link to subscribe here.

From a Controllers point of view it must have been THE worst moment in the history of the LAS. I remember baracading the control staff in one of the control suite rooms (Mr Crosby was there also).for fear of safety. On coming staff were assauled, abused cars damaged. but as an ex ambulance man SW Division I had sympathy with the reasons behind the frustation. Lets hope and pray we never have a re-occurance.

In case of any confusion it should be noted that it is not UNISON that is implementing the ISA scheme but the government. UNISON has made it's position very clear and opposes the cost to members.

I simply wish to add another note of disapproval to your idiotic Vetting and Barring scheme. This is another step in the bureaucratic enclosure of children and can only assist in making children more suspicious of adults and adults more wary than ever of having any informal contact with children. The most charitable explanation is that you are so embedded in the climate of paranoia that surrounds chidren that common sense has disappeared from your assessment of your role.
